As a huge fan of Old School music, I use the message in the music to help move you forward. In the popular song by Jean Carne, she warns her lover to not let it go to his head since he now knows how she feels about him. The chorus states don't let it go to your head, baby. How does this apply to you? Have you ever tried to Leap forward, but had the voices in your head tell you nope, nada, no way, Jose? Have you ever started to daydream about creating a better future for yourself and your family only to be met with resistance from your own thoughts? Yep, me too. But it doesn't have to be that way. You see we control our thoughts. We can dwell on a negative thought just as easily as dwelling on a positive thought. You decide. There are many books written on the subject of the mind. One that helped me is Battlefield of the Mind by Joyce Meyers. It deals with strategies to help you think better and live a victorious life based on choosing the right thoughts. What are the "right thoughts", Coach Char? I am glad you asked! *smile*
The right thoughts sound like this: I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. I am the head and not the tail, I am above and not beneath. I am forgiven and I forgive myself. I am destined to prosper and be in good health. I will leave a positive legacy for my children's children. I am well able and well equipped to accomplish any goal I set for myself. I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength. I could go on, but I think you get the point. The right thoughts are those thoughts that empower you, encourage you, and inspire you to accomplish your goals. The wrong thoughts are negative, "stinking thinking" that keep you bound and unfruitful. Both types of thoughts come to all of us, but we choose which voice speaks our truth and shapes our reality. What you focus on the longest becomes the strongest. The battle is truly won or lost in our minds. Here's the thing, you can't fix it if you don't know what it is. So I challenge you over the next week, to take an hour's inventory of your thoughts each day. Notice stinking thinking and write it down. Then think of positive thoughts you could use to replace the negative ones. Replace the negative thoughts with positive ones immediately. Thoughts have power. Thoughts are energy and you can make your world or break it by your own thinking. - Susan L. Taylor Here's to thinking the right thoughts and living our best lives. In Abundance, Coach Char
